"March 26. My, how time flies. Today, Kat and I lived a college-student-cheap-day.
I also lived a college-student-(nearly)-cheap-day. Which basically means I utilized the fact that I am at home to my best benefit. First, I woke up and made some coffee (my mom is under the impression that putting coffee in the freezer helps it last longer - perhaps true, however, when the expiration date is from 2009, you should probably avoid it) and ate a muffin that my mom gave me from our dinner last night at Mimi's Cafe. Never turn away free food (ok, almost never), especially when it's a carrot raisin muffin. Then my dear cousin. Kandyce, came over and cut my hair (the handbook states free hair cuts are a must when one knows how to). After that I drove my car over to the tire place and got my tire replaced - love having people who know people who can fix things. Then I grabbed some Chipotle (unfortunately not free - I forgot to express my gratitude to random strangers for money), came home, took a nap, and did a little reading. Then my sister came home:
Me: What are you doing tonight?
Breeza: Kels and I are going to Forever 21 on Main Street.
Me: Sounds fun.
Breeza: Want to come?
Me: Um, I'll think about it.
Breeza: Just say yes.
Me: Um...
Breeza: Hey, you have to since you're not coming home this summer.
Needless to say, we went. After wandering around the store for an hour (at which point they started turning off the lights - personally, I would have done it sooner, considering they had technically closed 30 min. earlier), we walked around for a bit and then decided to come home. After passing the six bars within our nearest vicinity, the approximately 15 taxis all offering us rides, and the slightly drunk men attempting to get our attention, we got to the car, only to discover Breanna didn't have her key. Deciding that it must have fallen out in the dressing room, we walked back past all of the above and knocked on the door of Forever 21. The rather surprised and confused saleswoman almost walked away after informing us they were closed, but thankfully we were able to convince her to hear us out, so she went and checked the rooms. A few minutes later she came back out, looking quite sorrowful and told us that the key was nowhere to be found. Turning from the store, we started discussing our options (sadly, it was the spare key that was lost).
Me: Ok, well, where else could it be?
Breeza: It was in my pocket.
Kels: Maybe it fell out when you were shopping.
Breeza: No, it was in my pocket. <reaches in purse> I would have felt...oh, <pulls out key> here it is.
So, we got to walk back, again. Now we're back home watching some college and high school basketball and the Amazing Race. Love family, home and free things.

1. Michelle looks great in a hat.
ReplyDelete2. It says on the coffee package to store in the freezer.
3. The coffee from 2009 is YOUR coffe you left at home, my coffee is from Nov. 2010 (I don't drink much coffee).
4. Come home again when you need a free/cheap weekend.
Love you!!
